Recognising coins

 As a part of Maths curriculum, recognition of Indian currency i.e coins was done. Students kept real coins with them. They recognised the coins of value ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10, ₹20.

HOW MANY GRAMS?

As a part of Maths curriculum, the concept of Mass was taught with an activity. Students were asked to make paper chits on which different masses were written like 100gm, 200gm, 400gm and 500gm. They then combined different masses to make 1 whole mass. For eg. 5 chits of 200gm will make 1000gm or 1kg.

HUNGRY MICE SUBTRACTION

 For the concept of subtraction, Students played the game of hungry mice. Two dice were rolled simultaneously and the students had to subtract the smaller number from the bigger number. If the answer matches the mice number, they had to cover the mice with counter. If the number is repeated, they had to cover the cheese instead.
