MATHS WEEK ACTIVITY MAKING PATTERNS IN PS

As a part of Mathematics week, pattern activity was conducted with the students of Pre school.

They were asked to collect dry leaves and flowers and make symmetrical patterns using the same.  This activity help students develop their number sense and observation skills. When a student looks at a pattern, they observe what they see and make predictions for what should come next. This math skill serves as an essential foundation in number sense. The observation skills students develop with patterns are used for more complex math skills. Since patterns are an important foundational math skill, students must learn and master the basics. That knowledge can then be built upon, helping students learn more complicated math concepts.

EARTH DAY- MAKING BIRD FEEDER

As a part of Earth Day, students made bird feeder by upcycling the toilet paper roll. Making this bird feeder is a fun little earth day craft that is quick and simple.  And the best part is watching for the many little “visitors” that will be coming around.

This activity also engages the senses. The peanut butter and the bird seed both give olfactory (smell) sensory input. Rolling it in the bird seed and hanging it on a tree are excellent tactile input. And both making the bird feeder and later observing the birds who use it are visual.
