We all know sensory exploration is important to a developing child. Keeping this in mind, a sensory path is pasted in the Cambridge Corridor.
Child completes a sensory path where they will jump at certain intervals, takes slow steps down a path, jump on planets, colours, and shapes and places his hand on handprints on the wall and pushes as hard as they can.
This path is designes to help a child use their own bodies and own environment to calm themselves down. They use their muscles, their breathing, their spatial awareness and completely absorbs themsleves in thr sensory path and walk away from it reset and refreshed. It focuses on their kinesthetic skills, coordination, curricular topics, focus and immediate reward.
This path is used several times throughout the school day when kids need a break or just be a kid when they can’t keep their wiggles still.
It is not just stickers on the floor, it is movements in a series and in a certain way.
