Counting in tens using blocks

As a part of Maths Curriculum, the concept of counting in tens was taught using blocks. Students used rods and blocks for it. Each big rod contained 10 blocks. They made different numbers using the same. For example, for making number 46, they took 4 rods and 6 blocks.

ADDITION ON NUMBER LINE PS

As a part of Maths Curriculum, the concept of Addition on number line was taught through an activity. Students jumped on the number tracked. They picked up a slip with the question, read out the question and jumped accordingly.

1 min challenge PP

Students did 1 min challenge to try to understand how long is a minute. They had to write their names as many times as they can in 1 minute. They also wrote numbers in 1 minute. Along with it they also jumped as many times as they can in a minute.

Making Totals- Rolling Dice PS

 As a part of Maths Curriculum, students played the dice game with their parents/siblings to make totals. The instructions were as follows: 

  • Take turns to roll the dice twice.
  • Count the number of dots each time. Add the numbers together.
  • The person with the larger total takes a counter.
  • Carry on until one person gets 10 counters.

CAPACITY- Does it hold more or less? PP

 As a part of Maths curriculum, the concept of Capacity was taught by an activity. Students filled different sizes pans/ jars/ vessels with water and they measured the the amount of water each pan holds with a glass/cup. They got to know that larger vessel will hold more amount of water or more glasses/cups of vessel than the smaller vessel.
